Global Youth Summit 2017

The Global Youth Summit was held in conjunction with the Global Peace Convention 2017, which organized by the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) with the theme “Moral and Innovative Leadership: New Models for Peace and Development.” The GPC is a preeminent world-level platform to share best practices and develop collaborative strategies in areas of education, environmental sustainability, community-based development, and conflict resolution.

Two of the several celebrities who were speakers at the event were KC Concepcion and Aiza Seguerra. Both spoke about their respective advocacies such as solving the global problem that is hunger, as well as the importance of finding a good job for the youth.


Actress KC Concepcion shares her experience as a National Ambassador Against Hunger of the World Food Programme during the Global Youth Summit at the Mall of Asia Arena on March 3, 2017. At 22 years old, and after six months of applying, she finally started working for the WFP. According to her, "hunger is the world's greatest solvable problem."

His insights on the country’s employment situation and its ties to economic growth involved remedying the disparity between education and career paths. According to him, a job goes beyond the purpose of putting food on the table: “It is for personal growth that should lead to job satisfaction and productive employment.”

Aiza ended his talk with: "Guard your heart, guard your principles. Because your principles, your passion, and your dreams, will be the ones that will bring you success."
