ToyCon 2017 Pinoy Pop Life FAN Experience

Manila, Philippines – What is Toycon? What’s in it at ToyCon that people are excited about? ToyCon is a convention to help the community of hobbyists and collectors of toys, comics, games, movies, animation and other keepsakes. This year is their 16^th year celebration and 2^nd year partnership with Pop Life Entertainment, which happened last June 30 to July 2, 2017 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia. It’s a big year celebration for all hobbyists and collectors where they can showcase their muster of collections and at the same time, boost interest to people of all ages.

It is the time of year for these collectors and hobbyists to see friends, meet new people, see more of their passions and learn. Their aim is to organize the ultimate Fan Experience for the Filipino pop-culture fans in partnership with Pop! Life Entertainment which is very successful as expected.

Toycon 2017 made a big mark of an unforgettable experience, not just for hobbyists and collectors, cosplayers, but also to those who just want to see and feel how it is to be part of this group of interesting people. Of course, as part of this event, buying items on sale is a big expectation at a lower price where you can see anything that is all about toys, games, comics, movies and animations, especially the hard-to-find. It’s an enormous place of a one-stop shop!

For the loyal fans of comics, there are tons of comics on sale – new and paper back issues in different booths.

Of course, a bountiful of action figures and statues of your favorite characters, robots and superheroes! For the DC fans, Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Dragon Ball Z, Cartoon Network, Voltes V, Mazinger Z, Power Rangers, Transformers, and a lot more - they have sets from the 70s, 80s, 90s and present that even the youngsters would appreciate the toys back then and learn what it is like to be a child during the early years of their parents. Even the local comics and toys are greatly appreciated too.

For the game lovers, there’s so much more to see! Whether you like the online games, board games and other educational games, they have it.

Cosplay is one of the new trends today in the world of anime. They spend time and effort to make their costumes more realistic and artsy.

Local celebrities who are known for their vlogging gave tips on how to begin and shared their experiences. International celebrities who are popular with their roles in fictional movies are present as well.

Alodia Gosiengfaio (Filipina Cosplayer, model, singer, actress & endorser) and Greg Cipes (American Actor, voice of Beast Boy in Teen Titans, Michael Angelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, voice of Atlas in the Astroboy Anime series, and more).

Vloggers & TV personalities Baninay Bautista, Jako de Leon, &Will Dasovich with host RJ Ledesma.

Kevin McNally (English actor known for his role as Joshamee Gibbs in Disney's Pirates of the Carribean), Lindsey McKeon (American Actress known for her roles on One Tree Hill and Supernatural), and Charley Bewley (English Actor & producer, known for his role as vampire Demetri in the Twilight Saga).

Pinoy Pop Icon Award, on its first year, is bestowed to Ms. Alodia Gosiengfiao and Mr. Mars Ravelo (received by son Rix Ravelo & grandchildren), for being the two advocates and excemplar of Philippine Pop culture.
