Beko Ph Eat Like A Pro Cook-Off Cycle 2

Beko Philippines, the Official Partner of the Everyday, kicked off Eat Like A Pro: Cook Off Cycle 2 from November 16 to 17 at Robinson's Metro East in Pasig City. Me and my daughter, Rain, were one of the lucky mom and child teams who joined the competition.

It was a challenging, yet exciting experience that we both will always treasure. Though we weren't able to bring home the bacon, that experience proved our closeness and as a mom and daughter team, we learned a lot and made us realize that we can actually do it. Team work, creativity, patience and sportsmanship are some of the qualities that each team have. Each team showcased delicious, nutritious and budget-friendly meals.

Beko's Eat Like A Pro (ELAP) advocacy is to disseminate information to help parents prepare healthier food choices for their children. One of their ways is the cooking contest, parent-child tandem that was a big hit capturing attention to many parents on many ways of serving and preparing healthy food.  This is to raise awareness about the fast growing number os childhood malnutrition due i the Philippines to unhealthy eating habits.

"We are excited to hols the Eat Like A Pro: Cook-Off for the second time. We hope that parents ans their children can show us their cooking skills as they prepare healthy dishes,": said Dyeun Zapanta, Assistant General Manager, Beko Philippines.

The green team won the second leg which is actually a very tough competition for the two teams (green and yellow), because both of them did a great healthy menu creations that we all agreed are sumptuous dishes. The winner of the contest took hone a Beko kitchen showcase and ₱10,000 cash.

We want parents to know that it is possible to make their children eat healthy without compromising the taste of the meals they serve. The Eat Like A Pro: Cook-Off is only one of the things we are doing to promote healthy eating, especially among kids,": said Zapanta.

The winner of the first leg, Michelle Co-Huertas together with her husband Ralph Huertas, showcased her winning dish which we got to taste as well. Chef Gerick Manalo also demonstrated  how to prepare Healthy Mushroom Sliders. Beko Ph also raffled 2 Beko Range hoods each day that brought excitement to everyone.

There will be another cycle of Eat Like A Pro: Cook-Off soon. To know more about Beko's #EatLikeAPro advocacy and Beko Philippines, like the Beko Philippines fan page @BekoPh or log on to www.beko.ph.
