San Miguel Purefoods Kids Kitchen Camp: Bloggers' Kids Series on its 24th Year

Many of us parents are looking for something new that our kids would love to learn and appreciate, and cooking is one of interesting activities that I'm sure that will relate to every family. Just like us when we were kids, we wanted to watch how food is prepared and cooked. It's really cool that in this generation, cooking lesson is now offered for kids as well.

Last May 3, 2019, San Miguel Pure Foods (SMPF) Culinary Center  in collaboration with Makati Diamond Residences,  held its 24th  Kids Kitchen Camp  year at the 28th floor Kitchen Studio of  the hotel.

I can say that it is one of the happiest activities that my son Nathan has attended. He learned that preparing delicious food and cooking can be easy, fun and exciting. My son gained confidence and new friends as well. He learned how to appreciate cooking and that there are so many ways to keep him busy.

"If kids are much more involved in food preparation, then they truly get encouraged to eat more, which promotes good nutrition, plus they learn cooking early, a very important life skill," says Llena Tan-Arcenas, the Culinary Services Manager of San Miguel Pure Foods.

For this year, our little chefs were taught by Pamela "chef Pam" Obieta and the MDR chefs how to prepare 5 sumptuous yet kid-friendly recipes that they all enjoyed such as:
  • Nachos Afritada  using Purefoods Chicken Afritada and Magnolia Cheddar Cheese
  • Pulled Pork Tacos made from Purefoods Pulled Pork BBQ Pinoy Style and Magnolia Cheezzee Squeeze
  • Quick Meaty Spaghetti using Dari Creme, Monterrey Ground Pork, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs  Jumbo and Magnolia Cheezee
  • Flower Pot Cakes made from Magnolia Devil's Food Cake, La Pacita Graham Crackers, Magnolia Cream Cheese and Magnolia All Purpose Cream
  • Classic Chicken Tinola simplified by using Magnolia 3-way Chicken Ginger-Based
Kids were also served Magnolia Chocolait and La Pacita that they all enjoyed. As for the parent bloggers, us, aside from loving watching our kids, we got to enjoy the snacks served to us:
  • Arroz Caldo made from Magnolia 3-Way Chicken Ginger-Based
  • Chicken and Pulled Pork Pie using Magnolia Chicken and Purefoods Pulled Pork BBQ Pinoy Style
Kids and parents all had a very special and fun-filled day which is surely one of the best bonding and learning experience to us.
