Kinder Day at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant

What comes into my mind when I hear about a German Restaurant is their freshly brewed German beer in a mug as big as a pitcher, sausages and other cuisines that I am not so familiar with. It is a surprise to me when I went to Brotzeit with my daughter Rain. when we saw an  activity corner (Megabloks and other toys) with lots of kids meeting new friends that brings out their creativity. I wasn't expecting it to be as family friendly and accommodating staff like what we've experienced at Brotzeit!

Rain and her friend Abi were both amazed with the nice ambiance that every family would appreciate.  Instead of ordering first, the girls explored the place, tried the kiddie corner and other toys.

After a while of playing, they've realized that they are already hungry. Rain normally is a picky eater and would just eat a very small amount like half a cup of rice and viand. Here, I am oberserving if she will be interested to try eating more.

For a start, Rain ordered Corndog (Php350). It's a German Sausage coated with cornmeal batter and deep fried, served with pommes. The sausage is specially made in-house adapted to the taste of children. According to my Rain, it tastes really good and I see that the kids love it!

Now, the Pancakes (Php350), fluffy pancakes with cream cheese glaze and sprinkles. Any kid would love how it was attractively prepared for children. Topped with color-coated tiny round chocolates gave a big smile to my Rain.

A scoop each of homemade Strawberry and Chocolate Ice Cream.

This, you have to try! Heisse Schokolade is our favorite! The thick melted chocolate made from rich premium bittersweet chocolate made me order for myself too! I highly recommend this for the whole family.

The Kinder menu comes with Iced Tea and Kinder Joy treat. Placemats with activities to keep them busy while children wait for their food to be served.

Here comes the exciting part! It's my turn to share the Lunch Special experience of German beer and German Bavarian meals. Standard recipes by Brotzeit  are in-house and can't be bought anywhere, not even the supermarket or any authentic German store.

Weihenstephen Original Hell

Radler
Original hell with lemonade

This is now my favorite beer! It's light and recommended for ladies.

Their beer is made by Weihenstephaner, the oldest brewery in the world, shipped directly from Germany. Served in draft and guaranteed no hangover. Prost!

Jaeger Schnitzel (Php 350)

Deep fried breaded pork cutlet with mushroom sauce and pommes. The taste of mushroom sauce poured over the crispy covered pork gives a balanced taste, just the way I like it!

Pork Belly Sandwich (Php 265)
It's a sourdough bread filled with crispy pork belly topped with green apple salad. The green apple salad complements well with crispy pork belly that will make you come back for more.

Brotzeit Burger (Php 265)
Meat patty with bacon and caramelized onions on a brezn bun. The caramelized onion brings out the savoriness of the patty and smoke flavor of the bacon.

Pan Seared Chicken Breast (Php 350)
Stuffed with bacon and onions served with German flat noodles and mushroom sauce. If you're searching for a different kind of noodle, try the German version pasta.

Brathandl (Php 265)
Roast chicken quarter with reis pilav and green peas or pommes. This may look simple, but the long grain rice, Reis Pilav, was cooked in a rich flavorful broth. For something new to the palate, try this!

Reisfleisch (Php 295)
Stewed pork tenderloin with roasted vegetables and rice. Looking for everything? Getting confused with  the choices? In this dish, they have it all!

ADD-ONS

(L - R) Salad Side (Php 80), and Chef's Dessert (Php 190) a warm chocolate cake served with Stracciatella Ice Cream, Pomme's Side (PHP 80), and Onion Rings.

Brotzeitplatte / Brotzeit Platter (Php 2,500), good for 4 - 5 persons
An assortment of their bestsellers -- Porkbor Chicken Schnitzels, Crispy Oven Roasted Pork knuckle (marinated in beer for 3 days, tender juicy inside & crispy outside),German sausages (made in-house), and 2 side dishes of your choice (Sautééd Mixed Vegetables, Roasted Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Potato Salad, Spicy Potato Wedges, Fries). A short trivia -- only 3 people recorded to finish the whole platter.

Overall, the food is great and something that any Filipino would appreciate. The freshly brewed German beer is perfect this summer and positively no hangover. Perfect for those who want to try it and still have work the following day. The ambiance is family oriented and I highly recommend that you try this exquisite German cuisine for kids and adults.
