Chess Tournament in Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019

Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019 is known for beauty and brains. This time there will be a new concept that will incorporate Chess Tournament which will happen in El Nido, Palawan from October 18 to October, 2019. The said tournament was organized by Martin "Binky" Gaticales, MTBW - Project Development Director/Board Member, CDCCCP - President, and IDCSF - ESWF/Head -International Digital Chess Sports Federation.

"We are here to promote tourism in the Philippines, for many years chess is a catalyst human development in sports especially to the youth sector and to women it is a new generation. That's why the sports tourism, the beauty and brains, is having a tagline "It's More Fun to Play Chess," said Mr. Martin Binky Gaticales.

"Chess was incorporated in this beauty pageant in as much as beauty pageant, we're not only looking at the beauty but also the brains of the participants. And in sports when we say chess it need brains. Chess develop also problem solving and all those critical things that should be in vibe in order to answer very well the questions of the judges. We, at the National Chess Federation of the Philippines prepared tourist spots and tourist destinations as venue for our competitions," said Mr. Red Dumuk, National Chess Federation of the Philippines, Executive Director.

Chess is very popular in the Philippines and non-violent. They just play silently and be happy playing the sport. It is supported by the government and now by Smart Philippines and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT). There will be ten participants in the Chess Tournament, and some of the judges are also chess players. What's more interesting is that there is a chess online game is being developed now.

What is your opinion in terms of tying up the pageant in the chess competition?

Miss South Africa: "It's good that it will give international recognition to all of us representing our countries as well as the people that are coming for the chess."

Miss Philippines: "It's such an incredible event, because a lot of people will be able to see the beauty of Palawan and will be able to promote tourism, vise versa, since the cultural diversity is widely accepted here and I'm so happy and I'm so glad for other delegates for mother countries."

Miss Canada: "So I believe a way that beauty pageants and international sports competitions work hand in hand, it's because the people coming here, the people travelling, they are proudly representing their country in the same way. For it is an honor to come visit Palawan for the beautiful beach while also representing our cuntry.
Miss Japan: "Beauty contest is said to be an olympic of beauty. You can give dreams and hopes by communicating about beauty, giving dreams and hope to people is no diffferent from sports. It is a place where you can express your dream and try to do something.
Miss New Zealand: "I believe that beauty pageants and chess are quite similar, because they're about the particular hobbies, for as beauty queens we have the opportunity to educate  and spread awareness about tourism of El Nido our respected countries. And, I believe that it is such a great opportunity for both chess and beauty pageant to come to explore it, to promote it throughout the Philippines and throughout the world."
Miss Lower Myanmar: "I want to promote tourism and culture.
Miss Thailand: "There many beautiful place here and I will promote by social media."

I believe that incorporating Chess Tournament to Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019 is one way of not just promoting beautiful places in the Philippines, but also promoting and encouraging chess sports nit just in the Philippines, but all over the world. It's a sport that really makes your brain work.
