Christmas is a celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is love. Christmas is happiness. It is a great joy to bring happiness to children this Christmas. Now is the time of year that World Vision in the Philippines officially announced the start of its Noche Buena campaign for 2019, the child-focused organization's yearly drive to make their Christmas celebrations more meaningful and joyful for the most vulnerable children and their families. It's a feel-good initiative that we know will brighten each home this holiday season.
World Vision Ambassador Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Erwan Heusaff, teamed up to show their support by doing a Noche Buena with a twist challenge. They produced an online vlog where they cooked their own version of one of the young Filipino's favorite Noche Buena dishes, Spaghetti.
"Christmas can be considered as one of the most celebrated and important holidays for us Filipinos and this occasion is not complete without the Noche Buena. This important feast symbolizes the much-awaited reunion of families as we remember and celebrate the love for family, the season of giving and most especially the birth of Christ," said Rommel Fuerte, world Vision Philippines Executive Director.
The Noche Buena campaign started in 2005. Like the Noche Buena in every home, it has been one of the most awaited seasons of World Vision's assisted children across the country, bringing joy to Filipino homes every year.
During the launch, bloggers, that includes me, participated in the "Noche Buena with a Twist" cook-off. We created our own versions of spaghetti. Me and my partner, Rocky Chua Batara, created a simple, sweet & cheesy spaghetti which we called "Rock 'n Roll Spaghetti" that will satisfy children's palates. We just enjoyed what we're preparing, and guess what? We won! I thought of my children and the children of World Vision, how they like their spaghetti cooked. We're both happy with the presentation and taste, and wish that we could cook for all the kids this Holiday Season.

You're all invited to take part in making this a memorable Christmas for the children. By giving a one-time donation of at least ₱1,000 sponsors and donors can help provide two (2) families with Noche Buena gift that contains ingredients for spaghetti and fruit salad with additions of canned foods and juice drink.
"I am beyond grateful and honored to be part of World Vision's Noche Buena campaign and help give more smiles to children and their families this Christmas. I am inviting everyone to help us reach our goal of blessing 28,000 children and their families this coming holiday," said World Vision Ambassador Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
